DanceNZ Made

On Tuesday the 3rd of August a fantastic group of learners went and competed in the Dance NZ made regional competition. Chloe Wright, Phillipa Johnston, Lucy Dunnlogan, Ella Davies and Ameena Barlow all competed. They represented the College proudly and came away with some fantastic results. Phillipa Johnston placed 3rd in year 13 solos and Chloe Wright placed 1st in year 13 solos. Phillipa and Chloe placed 3rd in 11-13 duo/trios and 3rd overall in duo/trios. Chloe Wright has been nominated to attend the National solo competition final in Palmerston North in September.

On Wednesday the 4th we went to day t of the event and learners participated in Dance workshops and watched the team rehearsals. We were also able to stay and watch the team competition in the evening. The learners got lots of inspiration throughout the day and we are very excited to try and enter a team for this event next year. During the workshops the Dance NZ made team were looking out for dancers who demonstrated 'Fierceness'. Phillipa Johnston was selected and given a Golden ticket. This gives her the opportunity to audition in November to win a 'She shines' tour and support towards her dance fees.
