Rolleston College —

Platinum Badges & Senior Badges:

The Platinum Badge is the highest badge offered through the Senior Badge system. It shows dedication to learning, displaying the Rolleston Spirit and support within the wider community.
A massive congratulations to the learners who received their Platinum Badges this term. Rebecca Hunter, Donia Mikhaeil, Shawn Hunter and Rahil Prasad. All four of these Year Thirteen learners currently hold leadership roles at the College, display the Rolleston Spirit through all aspects of their learning and have all volunteered in the school or wider community.

As Term 3 kicks off, it will be important for seniors to continue handing in their Badge applications. We had a large influx of applications at the end of last term which was great to see. This term, we’d like to see even more senior learners accessing the system and showing their dedication to the Rolleston Spirit. If seniors have questions about the badge system, they are welcome to come and see Mr Hunter or Mr McBrearty.

Clicks Update:

Term 2 was another record breaker for the amount of clicks that were given out. Learners receive clicks from staff who see them engaging positively within the College, or for displaying the Rolleston Spirit. Last term we saw 5,151 clicks given out to learners which is fantastic. Congratulations to Alice Chen, Leyland Witcomb, Piper Hey, Sydney Bradley, Tyler Kroening, Bevan van der Westhuizen, Anurska Bradley, Nika Liebenberg, Luke Stevens, Zakiah Billingsley, Lucas Patterson, Bree Bagrie and Kaitlynn Kyle who all received $5 canteen vouchers. A big congratulations to Zakiah Billingsley, Bree Bagrie and Kaitlynn Kyle who were the top click receivers for Term 3. These learners will be having lunch with the Principal later this term. Raumati took out the top spot for the most clicks given in a whānau, with Kōanga in second, Ngahuru in third and Hōtoke in fourth.

This term we are hoping to see another record breaking term with the amount of clicks given out. All learners will need to ensure that they are engaging positively throughout the College so that teachers can recognise them with a click. Rewards for the click system are below.

5 clicks = Whānau points

10 clicks = An entry into the draw to win one of three $30 vouchers

20 clicks = $5 Canteen voucher

R2L Focus #1 for Term 3:

This term we will be having a particular focus on Uniform within R2L and ensuring that it is correct. Learners need to make sure that they are wearing the correct uniform around the College whilst also ensuring that they encourage others to do the same. Hoodies and jackets are not a part of the Rolleston College uniform and should not be worn around the campus during school time. Learners are permitted to wear navy or black long-sleeve thermals under their shirts during winter. Shoes should be any plain black, closed-toe, flat non-branded shoe or sneaker. Socks of any length can be worn, but must be either navy or black. Winter tights can be black or navy.

Learners who are in Physical Education classes should also only be wearing their P.E. tops in this space. Learners are given time to change into the top and out of it during class, so should not be wearing the top around the College. If a learner starts and finishes the day with P.E., they are expected to be wearing their normal school shirt during their other blocks.

Any non-regulation uniform items will be confiscated and returned at the next non-uniform day or collection by whānau. The College has a large amount of loan uniform items that we can give out should your child need to borrow an item. Should they not be able to wear a piece of uniform but have a valid reason, please send a note to school with your learner for their Advisory/Ako Leader to organise a uniform pass for them.
