Lockdown Earthquakes

Ashley Herbert —

This term the year 10 classes have been learning about Earth Sciences, looking at the Earth's structure, geological features and events like earthquakes.

Lockdown can be hard for everyone, however, in Science we do miss working in the labs and our practical learning. 10P were set a challenge to recreate an earthquake or part of an earthquake using any medium they choose.

Some students opted for the quick to build Lego models, others a more challenging House of Cards (only for it to come crashing down) and some went all out with the culinary creations. Then there was Oli Kirke on the back of a trailer demonstrating the different earthquake waves.

Well done to all the students who participated in this crazy task. It was fun to see your projects develop. To make this  task more challenging, points were awarded for creativity, range of media and of course scientific explanation. The winner will receive a cake for their outstanding effort.
