Piazzolla Trio from South Canterbury District were a awarded a Bronze at the Southland Finals following their win for the District Final.

Sophie Bennet (cello) from Roncalli performed this year with Charlotte L'Amour (piano) who is Home-Schooled and Natasha Gibbs (violin) from Craighead Diocesan. The trio were coached by Rosemary Miller and performed Astor Piazzolla's 'Quatro Stagioni'.

For Sophie, this was her final year competing in the contest and she has most remarkably won the District Final and competed at the Southland Final for 4 of her 5 years at College. Competing with Cello and also violin. 

Sophie said that from participating in the contest she has really developed her ensemble skills and learnt alot about working with others to prepare for this contest each year.
