Students writing code to maneuver their robots
Roncalli Engineering students finished out their first semester by testing the robots they made. Students had to design a robot that had sensors to sense an obstacle and maneuver around it without any human interaction. Students used ultrasonic sensors and/or touch sensors to sense objects and wrote computer code to 'teach' their robot how to maneuver. This completed the semester long course in which students learned CAD/CAM and made rockets or fidget spinners that were 3D printed, built truss bridges for a load bearing contest (the heaviest bridge held 33 kg's with only 100 craft sticks), and tested their robots (https://youtu.be/uJnj3YnZKfo).
