On Thursday 3 November the Roncalli College PE Department held their annual Year 12 Duathlon

For the first time this event was held at Levels Raceway, Timaru, with 26 students from the two Year 12 PE classes taking part. 

The students designed a training programme last term and have been hitting the pavements over the past eight weeks in an attempt to meet the times set out in their assessment. The event consists of a 2.4km run, a 9.5km bike, and a 2.4km run. The new course proved a fast track with all 24 students meeting the performance criteria for their assessment. 

The winner for the girls event was Mia Daly, with a time of 43:50, while Jack Cotter took out the boys section with a time of 35:58. 

Congratulations to all the students for the effort they put in yesterday and the commitment to training that they have shown leading up to this event.
