Great opportunity for students to showcase their ideas

The Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka! Awards competition challenges secondary school and tertiary undergrads to deliver a 12-minute presentation about how an application of science or technology will benefit New Zealand’s economic, environmental and social wealth and well-being.

The Eureka! Science and Technology Video Awards are an exciting innovation. To enter the Video Awards, contestants will produce a video up to five minutes in length that tells a story about how a scientific or technological idea is being or could be applied in their community to increase its commercial, scientific or environmental wealth and well-being.

Contestants can work in groups of up to three people in order to plan, shoot and edit their video. The Video Awards are intended to engage students in how science and technology is relevant to their local community through the use of digital technology.
