I knew that I wanted to be doing something that included welding and engineering so when I got the opportunity to be in a workshop for Gateway showing what I knew and learning even more it was great!

I mostly researched engineering and everything to do with being an engineer. I had a taster day at Roony Earthmoving but that wasn't really for me, I also had some taster days at Thompson Construction in the workshop and also out on construction sites.  I selected being in the engineering workshop and later got a placement at Dan Cosgroves in the workshop.

Being at Cosgroves I usually am on the welder the whole day and help out wherever I can. I have been helping make silos and welding roof trusses for the silos.

Next year I am planning to go to Ara for an engineering course, I will be out two times a week for paid work experience and three days in the workshop learning new techniques and working on projects.
