Roncalli Archery Success

Sports Coordinator —

Congratulations Zac Campbell and Bronsyn Hand

Both Zac and Bronsyn have been competing in the Archery New Zealand Youth Postal Shoot. This is a competition that runs from February to November each year, where they compete against all youth shooters throughout New Zealand. They shoot as individuals in their own class – Zac in the U16 Recurve division and Bronsyn in the U16 Para Division.

They also compete in the school competition which is held every term and combines all ages into each category with Zac and Bronsyn competing against year 9 to 13 students in the competition recurve secondary school division and the Para Archery Secondary school division respectively.

We are also pleased to share that Zac and Bronsyn have won the New Zealand Archery National Youth School Postal Competition for Roncalli College for both term 1 & 2. There are 29 schools with youth archers competing in this year’s competition so this is an amazing achievement for both students.

Zac and Bronsyn have also had success in their individual postal competitions. Zac winning in February, March, April, and June (2nd place in May). Bronsyn missing February, but back to claim a 2nd place in March and winning in April, May, and June.

Each shooter can also receive a badge for achieving a score over a certain number. Zac has been shooting for several years and claimed his full collection of pin score badges last year. Bronsyn is in his first year of archery and through his commitment and determination he has accomplished his pin score for both term 1 & term 2, which is very hard to achieve as a visually impaired archer.

These students have an amazing commitment to archery, and we are very proud of what they have achieved. Congratulations to you both.
