Emperor's Entertaining Extravaganza

Nikki Hall —

Senior Drama students presented their Pantomime for audiences over two evenings in the last week of term.

Director and Drama Teacher, Victoria Chappell, was delighted, stunned and proud of the creative process and final product -"Our performers put their heart and soul into this nine week process".

Highlights from the show included the audience interaction, the hilarious and strange relationship between the Emperor and the Villagers, and the banter between Snotty, Grotty, and The Maid.

For a handful of the students this was their first foray into public performance. Their confidence, self-belief and trust grew exponentially throughout this process which is why Drama is a fantastic vehicle for student wellbeing and development, alongside the enjoyment and cameraderie that develops through working on a production.

A portion of the ticket proceeds from this event will be donated to the South Canterbury Cancer Society and this will be presented early next term.
