An impressive group of Mathematicians standing out for Roncalli College!

On Wednesday 2nd August, Roncalli had four Year 9 and 10 teams competing in the annual Aoraki Mathematics Competition. In an exhilarating showcase of mathematical prowess and teamwork, the event not only tested the students' problem-solving skills but also ignited their passion for mathematics in a fun and engaging manner.

A huge congratulations goes to the Year 9 team of Athan Liew, Cooper Kelliher, Luke Campbell and Jack Bennet for winning the entire Year 9 competition - a first for Roncalli College! 

After the success of this competition, we took the top Year 9 and top Year 10 team to the Canterbury equivalent - the mighty Cantamath competition!

This fast-paced Maths competition serves as a reminder that learning is most effective when combined with enthusiasm, cooperation, and a touch of friendly competition. We had some impressive results for both teams in a huge pool of budding Mathematicians. 

A massive thank you to Mr Costello for all your work supporting these teams, and Mrs Hauptfleisch for giving up her time to take the teams to Christchurch!
