Here is some key information for 2019.

Trial Dates & Times

Roncalli College are running Senior, Year 10 and Year 9 Trials. It is important you attend a trial to be selected into a team. Please note summer sport commitments take priority. If you are unable to attend a trial please contact Miss Zandbergen prior to the trials beginning either by phone 6886003 extension 808 or email j.zandbergen@roncalli.school.nz

If a player is carrying an injury and is unable to trial please email me, you can still attend the trials to watch. It is important that we look out for player welfare we would rather you be fit and well for the season ahead and not do further damage at a trial.

Once selectors have completed their respective trials, they will meet with committee to discuss their selections and ensure we have included everyone. The team lists will then be published outside the Sports Office and Gymnasium foyer.

** As a College we endeavour to place every student who would like to play Basketball into a team. If you are not selected into the team you have chosen, you will be placed appropriately into another team. It is important that students are committed to the process and the season ahead. If anyone’s circumstances change or if you have anything you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact me.

All trials will be held in the Roncalli Gymnasium, please ensure you have appropriate sporting attire, sneakers and bring a drink bottle.

· Tuesday 26 February ~ Senior Premier Boys: 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm

· Friday 1 March ~ Year 9 Boys: 3.20 pm – 5.30 pm

· Monday 4 March ~ Year 9 Girls: 3.30 pm 5.00 pm

· Wednesday 6 March ~ Year 9 Girls: 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm

· Monday 11 March ~ Year 9 Girls: 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm (if needed)

· Monday 18 March ~ Year 10 Girls: 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm

· Tuesday 19 March ~ Senior Premier Girls: 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm **please note change of date

· Monday 25 March ~ Year 10 Boys: 6.30 pm 8.00 pm

· Wednesday 27 March ~ Year 10 Boys: 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm

The cost for being part of a Roncalli Basketball team is $90.00 per player.

Roncalli Basketball AGM ~ Monday 1 April 2019 at 6.30 pm in Room 17 Seminar room (attached to the College Gymnasium)

We invite all interested students, parents and guardians to come along as we welcome new members.

The Friday Night Secondary Schools Basketball Competition commences on Friday 3 May 2019 (first Friday of term 2).
