Overall Gateway has lived up to my expectations and I have figured out my desired career path which is plumbing.

My Thoughts before starting gateway this year was that it was a really good programme to find out what I wanted to do when I leave school.  I currently have placement at Breen Plumbing where I go once a week, this consists of going to homes and commercial buildings to fix and maintain any plumbing related issues, I have also done some work at Genius Homes pre piping new houses. 

I thoroughly enjoy my time at Breens and wish to continue plumbing in the future. I think gateway is a great programme to get into during level 1 and 2 and really helps if you are unsure about what to do when leaving school as this can be a stressful time. Also in the gateway classroom I have done a lot of theory, this includes Skills Organisation plumbing assessments which gave me an idea of what sort of theory I would be doing in a real apprenticeship.
