Students to be dismissed at 1:15pm on Thursday, 21 March due to a community bereavement

Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Members of the Roncalli Community

On Sunday morning, 17 March, Martin Moore-Corry, loved husband of Adele Churchman, passed away in Timaru Hospital. Martin was an amazing man and well-respected member of his community.

Ms Churchman has been employed at Roncalli/Mercy College for over 30 years and has fulfilled many roles during her long-service. Currently, she is the Director of Religious Studies (DRS) and a member of our Senior Leadership Team.

Roncalli College has offered to support Ms Churchman and her family during this difficult time by hosting a celebration of Martin’s life on Thursday, 21 March, in the College Hall at 2pm.

Consequently, we will be dismissing all students at 1:15pm on Thursday, 21 March. For those students who wish to catch the bus at the normal time, we will provide a supervised space for them to wait. We ask that all students planning to catch the bus sign up at the school office before Thursday so we can plan accordingly.
