Chris Comeau —

With thanks

Dear Roncalli Whānau

As we draw close to the end of the 2021 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. This year has been an exceptionally challenging one for everybody associated with the school community, but we have all worked tirelessly together to ensure that we continue to provide a high level of educational as well as pastoral support for all our rangitahi and their families.

Personally, I am thankful for the hard work, determination, and resilience that the students and staff have shown this year despite all the unprecedented challenges we have faced. These challenges have certainly tested us all and, in the long run, I believe, will make us stronger.

The students have been a true credit to their whānau and the community as they continue to work together to get through the challenges of this global pandemic. I would like to acknowledge the way that the whole Roncalli community has coped with the current situation. It is impossible to have imagined us having to work in such circumstances, and I am very grateful for your understanding, patience, positivity, and generosity.

Goodbye and Good Luck!

It is always sad to say goodbye to members of our teaching team at this time of year. Mrs Gillies and Mrs Hough will be leaving us after their combined service of 38 years at Roncalli College. We thank them for their loyal service to the College and wish them all the best for their next chapter.

We also farewell our class of 2021 and we wish them all the best as they move on to work and further study. We thank them particularly for their very thoughtful school gift – the refurbishment of the Hope Garden and installation of memorial plaques for Rafael Darling and Jack Wallace. The Hope Garden was officially re-dedicated on 17 November.

We wish all our community a safe and happy holiday. Ngā mihi o te kirihimete me te tau hou.
