Roncalli Kapa Haka 2023
Our Kapa Haka group doing the mahi in the first part of the year
I am really happy to report that our Kapa Haka group is growing. This year our numbers have grown to around 40 and when our year 9 Māori class join us, we have in excess of 60 students enjoying this positive connection to our culture.
Our group meets every Thursday and this year we plan to compete in FLAVA.
We are also talking about a trip to the West Coast as a team building event and we will be undertaking some fundraisers to help with, for example, our uniforms and new poi.
We are grateful to Haami and Raumiria, our tutors, and to Eli and Riley for playing the guitar for us. We look forward to performing for our Roncalli community throughout the year.
Note - The College would like to acknowledge the hard work of our rangatahi, we are so proud of your commitment, enthusiasm and passion. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Haami Rahui and Raumiria Henare for their continued support and mentoring of our Kapa haka students.
