Term 2 College Mass

Rose Struthers —

The theme for our Mass was Gratitude - we certainly have a lot to be grateful for!

Thank you to our Holy Family Parish accommodating our students at St Thomas' Church for our Term 2 Masses while the Basilica is being strengthened.

Father Huynh celebrated Mass for our Year 9, 11 & 13 students and shared a very informative presentation showing our students many thought provoking images of poverty and difficulties experienced for young and old alike in parts of Vietnam, reminding us to be grateful for our lives and the opportunities we have at Roncalli.

Father Brian celebrated Mass for our Year 10 and 12 students and highlighted the wonderful reading from Colossians 3: 12-17 which tells us to always show mercy to others, be kind, humble, gentle and patient; forgiving others, always be thankful and to remember to give thanks to our Lord. The Gospel reading was from Luke 17: 11-19 - Jesus Heals Ten Men with Leprosy - Father Brian shared some really interesting stories about the Leprosy Missions, Saint Damien and reminded the students to be grateful for their lives in New Zealand.

Father Brian also reminded us to remember Saint Pope John XXIII our own Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli who has left us such an awesome legacy to be proud of.
