As a committee, we would like to thank all the managers, coaches, committee members, parent helpers and players for your support throughout the year. We would also like to wish Ben Davenport all the best for his Seaford Cricket Scholarship in England later in the term.

First XI

The First XI cricket team had some fine wins to bookend another tough season in the men’s Second Grade A competition. The season opener saw best batting & bowling performances from Toby Scannell with 103 and Nick Goodwin 5 for 25 from 8 overs of left-arm spin. Overall the team won 2, lost 6 and had a thrilling tie against Pleasant Point with both teams ending on 146 after 40 overs. Toby Scannell's 473 topped the season’s run scoring. Captain Ben Davenport had the highest batting average of 44. Of the toiling bowlers, Hayden Kerr took 22 wickets at 10.7 with a miserly economy rate of only 3.0rpo. Team stalwart Ed Heenan farewelled with a 50 and top team man was Ben Corry who played every club game.

Colts

The 2018/19 cricket season ended a few weeks ago.
It was a somewhat disjointed season with the big wet prior to Christmas restricting play to just three or four days. We had one Colts team for the half of the season, playing in the remainder of the 11-a-side competition.Then, in the New Year, we were able to field two teams in the new 9-a-side 30/30. This was due to us getting six new cricket playing Year 9’s - Jack Cotter, James Eastmead, James Atwill, Dylan Humphreys, Sam Fauth, and Lukas Kelliher - as well as having three Mackenzie lads playing for us too. We only managed to win five of our twelve games, but the development of our players over the season was most pleasing. At our recent break-up we acknowledged the achievements of six players with the following certificates; Sam Jones - most wickets Harper McKerrow - best bowling average & most economical bowler Nick Goodwin - best bowling performance Will Davenport - most runs & highest score Jack Thomson - good team man and captainKrishna Sridhar - good team man Special thanks went out to; Scorers - Richard Boult, Sri, Paula Atwill, and Sue Kerr Managers - Richard Boult, Jones McKerrow, and Brendan Cairns Assistant Coach - Lleyton Phillips
