Aroha Freezer

Kerryn Olsen & Sally Betts —

A new initiative has been started at Roncalli because of a need in our community. The ‘Aroha Freezer’ is a service project that aims to create meals and food for people in our parish community and the wider Timaru community. We have had many generous offers of donations of food and time so that we can get this initiative started.

If you would like to contribute any non-perishable item of food (flour, sugar, cans of food or fruit) vegetables, or a grocery voucher or meat to be used to create meals please contact Kerryn Olsen on k.olsen@roncalli.school.nz or one of our Special Characters leaders Lucy l.hinde@roncalli.school.nz, Nelly n.tate@roncalli.school.nz, or Zannyx z.geary@roncalli.school.nz with any questions or contributions.

We would be happy to accept what you can offer. Items can be left at the office/ staffroom.

If you would like to donate your time, we would also be grateful! The first afternoon/evening of cooking meals will be on 31 August from 4.30pm onward.

In the next week or two we will email out a sign up sheet should any student/parents/ staff help cook or create a meal or two one afternoon after school.
