Important Netball updates

Sponsorship

All 10 of our netball teams are now sporting new gear bags, ball tubes and drink bottle holders. We would like to thank all those businesses who sponsored our netball club so that we were able to provide this for our teams.

SISS Junior tournament

The annual Junior South Island netball tournament was held in Christchurch during the holidays. Our 9A and 10A netball teams competed at this and came away with some great results. The teams had some really good wins, and some very close games, as well as the odd tough game against much bigger schools. The players skills and teamwork improved tremendously and they represented the College well.

Thank you very much to their coaches, managers and parents who attend the tournament with them, they would not be able to compete in such a great event if you weren’t willing to give up your time for these teams. Thank you also to all the supporters who travelled to Christchurch and cheered the girls on.

SISS Senior tournament

The annual Senior South Island netball tournament will be held in Nelson (Saxton event center) during winter tournament week (2 - 6 September). Our Senior A netball team will be competing at this event and we wish the team all the very best for their games. Thank you to Karen Metherell, Kelly O’Hara and Bridgette Johnson who will be attending the tournament as coach, manager and umpire.

Fundraising Friday

The Senior A netball team will be completing their last fundraiser for the SISS tournament.

A BBQ with sausages and bacon butties, as well as hot chips, will be held at lunchtime on Friday 16 August.

Wednesday netball:

• Semi finals - 21 August
• 3-8 Playoffs - Monday 26 August
• Finals - 28 August

Prizegiving for all netball grades will be at the conclusion of the Premier grade final on Wednesday 28 August.
