Rewards for creative thinkers

This year we have two Roncalli teams competing in the Young Enterprise Scheme.

Destination is a second year group, back to eliminate brochures and create a fun way for Kiwi explorers to tick off their local bucket list. Toby Scannell, Zack Robb and Ainemaria Burrell have put their love for the outdoors into action and recently pitched their idea to a panel of judges, who were impressed by their professionalism and thinking of ways to accelerate local tourism.

Monka is a new group and Monique Russell and Kasey Frahm are in it to help the girls and women of New Zealand to easily access sanitary products in their school. They also presented their idea to the panel of judges and were commended for stepping up and addressing an issue that is rarely discussed but deserves to be.

On Friday morning the 4th of June 2021 Stacey Darrell, Regional Coordinator of the Young Enterprise Scheme South Canterbury awarded Destination and Monka prize money for their recent Pitch at the Ara.

Both teams have completed the first two challenges and are committed to solving local problems to contribute to our community. We look forward to seeing what these teams do throughout the year.
