Supporting Primary Science Learning
The Roncalli College Science department are continuing to support our primary schools.
On 15 June 2023, we welcomed twenty six Year 5 to Year 8 students from St. Joseph's, Pleasant Point. Full of energy and enthusiasm, the students participated in a range of practical learning activities which supported their in class learning on particles and matter.
The activities encouraged team work, communication and problem solving. Each activity was designed to demonstrate a property of matter or a change of state. The highlight of the visit were the experiments with the dry ice, making a coin scream, inflating a latex glove and making ice-cream.
By facilitating these learning opportunities, we are able to enhance the learning experiences for the primary students and are able to offer specialist knowledge to support our primary teachers.
We look forward to the next opportunity to host our primary schools.
