Dear Parents and Caregivers

There is a lot of information in the media and in the community at the moment regarding the government's vaccine mandate and its implications for staff, students, visitors, and volunteers at the College. Some of this information may be accurate but much of what I have been hearing and reading is speculation and rumour.

The fact is, schools are still waiting for the Health Order from the Ministry of Education before making any decision or taking any definitive action. So please be assured that the College will keep you well informed as we plan to implement the government's health order.

I think it is also important to clarify that, while schools have their own Boards Of Trustees, they are Crown Entities and, as such, are obliged to follow directives from the Ministry of Education. State and integrated schools can not operate independently and on their own authority.

As we head toward the end of the school year, we will do our best as a College to ensure that our students do not miss out on many of the special events they have been looking forward to all year. We may have to be a bit creative and adaptive, but I am confident we can still proceed with planned events should we remain at the current alert level.
