Welcome back to school for 2023

A daily routine provides stability and a sense of control for young people.

Below are some tips that can be implemented for students as they return to school after the summer break.

  • Get organised the night before, look ahead and see what needs to be packed/organised for the following day.

  • Get a good night's sleep (it is recommended that teenagers have 8-10 hours sleep each night).

  • Set the alarm for a time that allows you to get ready in the morning without feeling rushed.

  • Eat a decent/nutritious breakfast.

  • Arrive at school on time.

  • Attend all classes - regular school attendance is key for academic success and it significantly improves wellbeing.

  • Bring healthy food and a water bottle to school to keep hydrated and energised throughout the day.

  • Establish an after school routine (with homework, physical activity, music practice etc).

  • Unplug and take a break from technology.
