Roncalli College Basketball

Jose Zandbergen —

The Secondary Schools Winter Basketball league bounced off on Friday 4 May with Roncalli having 13 teams in the competition.

Junior basketball is very strong this year with 8 junior teams. Friday nights results were a mix of wins and losses - early days yet with a lot of team building and coaching yet to come. We would love to see as many parents, caregivers, supporters to come and watch on Friday nights as it's an amazing atmosphere both at Roncalli and the STEC Stadium and the more Roncalli support the better.

Roncalli Basketball ran a very successful 3 vs 3 competition as a Roncalli fun social get together on 28 April which was well supported by students as well as also having a 3 point competition. Of over 40 competitors only three made it through to the second round of the 3 point competition - Brittany Young, Tyran Baldwin and Aimee Hewitt and in the end girl power prevailed with Aimee Hewitt winning the overall competition.

I would like to thank all the coaches, managers and supporters for giving your time to enable Roncalli students to be able to play basketball. We are looking forward to a great season and to watch players grow in strength, skill and character.

A friendly reminder to all players that subs are now due and the cost is $90.00. This is payable to the College Office please.

Roncalli College Basketball has a facebook page where we encourage parents/caregivers and students to join:
