The Science department would like to thank our suppliers Freshpork Baycity for the plucks, hearts and pig eyeballs and NZ Petfoods for the cow eyeballs.

This term our year 10 classes have been learning about the body and the systems that work to perform functions. 

Over the past few weeks, the year 10 students have dissected a chicken leg to learn about the structure of muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones. We have also had the opportunity to dissect a heart and study the circulatory system. Coming in the next few weeks we will be looking at some lungs and the respiratory system, how we breathe and exchange gases in the lungs and around our bodies. 

Our year 9 students will be dissecting the eyes later in the year. We are looking forward to it.
