My Mahi

Guy Sutherland —

This year students are using a digital app called My Mahi to assist with their learning and pathways.

Students have created goals and specific tasks as stepping stones towards achieving those goals within the app.

They can also access their timetable, the College daily notices, their progress towards NCEA achievement, and view their CARES values rewards.

Within the app they can create a CV, explore career pathways, discover what interests them and what they are passionate about, and regularly reflect and focus on the positive aspects of their lives by using the "3 Good Things" feature.

Students undertake a weekly quiz that is created by other high school students from around New Zealand. So far we have had five students win the weekly $50 prezzy card rewards. Last year, when we were trialling My Mahi, Madison Sugrue won the yearly prize of a Suzuki scooter!

The app is available on their BYOD devices as well as from a smartphone.

Recently students may have shared a connection to the app with you. This means you can view your students content within My Mahi and have conversations to assist them with their goals, pathways, and overall learning.

Primarily the use of My Mahi is facilitated through Learning Advisory, which is each Wednesday during Period 1. Your students Learning Advisory should have made contact home via email and/or you will have met them at Senior Course confirmation earlier in the Term.
