Harmony for Hospice

Nikki Hall —

A student-produced event at the Sacred Heart Basilica on Saturday raised over $800 for Hospice

Jayden Walker worked with a team of local musicians to  present an afternoon's entertainment for the local community on Saturday 22nd September.

The event showcased the talents of Noel Burns, Megan Holden, Jess Diamond, Caitlin Bradley and also featured a selection of songs from Jayden and Kirstyn Walker.

Andrew Fallon, MP for Rangitata, attended with his wife Rose Falloon and introduced the acts at the start and gave an official welcome. Andrew highlighted in his speech that  you often hear negative things about youth in the media so it's nice to be apart of an event where youth are doing great things for local community.

The audience joined in by singing and clapping on musical numbers, "Hallelujah" and "Weather With You".

Jayden Walker was "delighted with the money raised for Hospice and the amount of support from the wider community behind this event". He's considering running other events for good causes in the future.
