2019 New Zealand Short Course Championships

Their was an error in our previous 2019 issue with the omission of Luka Foy and Natasha Pannett's results. We apologise for this and congratulations on your achievements.

Matt Gray, Luka Foy and Natasha Pannett traveled to Auckland in the first week of the school holidays 1-5 October to compete at the NZ Short Course Swimming Champs. This meet is 5 days of intensive competition swimming in their age groups in the morning and open finals at night (if they qualify as one of the fastest 30 swimmers across all ages). Here are the results:

  • Luka 88% PBs with 6 top ten places 5th 50M fly; 5th 100M IM; 6th 100M fly; 7th 100M back; 7th 100M breast; 7th 50M back and he qualified for two opens finals being the 100M IM and 100M fly
  • Matt 57% PBs with 3 top ten places 7th 400M IM; 8th 200M breast; 9th 200M fly and he qualified for the 400IM opens final
  • Natasha swam 2 races: 400M free and 200M free finishing 13th and 20th respectively in her age group. Natasha has now retired from competitive swimming.
