Aoraki Secondary Schools Athletics Championships

Sports Coordinator —

13 Golds, 5 Silvers, and 9 Bronze

The Aoraki SS Athletics Championships were held on Wednesday 15th March at the Ashburton Domain. For 2023 we had 23 students represent Roncalli. On the day Roncalli achieved 13 Golds, 5 Silvers, and 9 Bronze.

Thank you to Michael Dickerson and Lindsey Dickerson who assisted on the day as officials and to our student helpers Kate Simpson, Nellie O’Driscoll, and Holly Thomas. A huge thank you to the local Athletics Club and the Sport Canterbury team for running the event.

Results:

Sean Newlands: U16 Boys 200m = 1st, 400m = 1st, High Jump = 2nd

Bethany Dickerson: U15 Girls 800m = 1st, 1500m = 1st

Gabriel Dickerson: U16 Boys 100m = 1st, Triple Jump = 1st, Javelin = 1st

Karen McDonald: U16 Girls Javelin = 1st, Triple Jump = 3rd

Monica McDonald: U19 Girls Triple Jump = 3rd, Javelin = 2nd

Caelyn Morrison: U15 Girls Long Jump = 2nd

Archie Jones: U19 Boys 3000m = 3rd

Lachlan List: U19 Boys 800m = 1st

Blake Fairhall: U15 Boys High Jump = 3rd

Tyree Etti: U14 Boys High Jump = 1st, Shot Put = 2nd

Patrick Dawson: U14 Boys 200m = 1st, 400m = 1st

Reuben Wheeler: U15 Boys Triple Jump = 3rd, Triple Jump = 1st

Madison Sugrue: U19 Girls Discus = 3rd

Arabela Clifford: U19 Girls 100m = 2nd

Emily Thompson: U16 Girls 800m = 3rd

Erin O'Keeffe: U14 Girls 800m = 3rd, 1500m = 3rd

U15 Girls 4x100m Relay (Isabella Rodden, Bethany Dickerson, Kiwiana Frisby, Erin O’Keeffe) = 3rd

U19 Boys 4x100m Relay (Gabriel Dickerson, Sean Newlands, Lachlan List, Archie Jones) = 2nd
