Continued Success For Roncalli Student Zac Campbell

Sports Coordinator —

Fantastic Results at Trans Tasman tournament and World Archery Oceania Championships.

Over the April school holidays, Roncalli student Zac Campbell competed oversees at the Trans Tasman tournament at Ashton Oval in the Adelaide Hills. Overall the NZ archers performed amazingly. In the first target 720 competition, Zac won a silver medal behind his NZ teammate Thornton Wallberg who won gold - both boys shooting a PB.

In the individual match-play Zac again won a silver behind his NZ team mate Thornton - the boys continuing to dominate the Australian side.

In the two person mixed match-play, Zac was paired up with Isla Parsons and managed to hold their own for NZ with a well deserved bronze medal.

In the 3 person mixed team the top 3 U16 NZ shooters of Zac, Thornton and Jaeda Alaalotoa teamed up and shot incredibly to win a hard battle for gold against Australia.

The whole NZ team shot successfully that they retained the Trans Tasman trophy by 20 points.

A few days later Zac took on his second competition - the World Archery Oceania Championships.

In the first double 720 target competition Zac won the first round but an arrow through the clicker lost him valuable points in the 2nd round and he took silver behind his NZ team mate Thornton who beat him by only one point.

The final day was televised and Zac was in both U16 gold medal finals in the individual and mixed team match plays. He took gold in the individual match-play and gold in the teams match-play with Auckland based Jaeda Alaalatoa-Dale.

For Zac an amazing finish to his first overseas competitions. Roncalli congratulates Zac on his recent achievements!
