Seaford exchange - Sophie Lyons
Sophie was selected to attend Seaford College on a netball scholarship for Term 1 2019. Sophie travelled over to the U.K. on New Years day where she was greeted by what she calls ‘very cold and horrible’ weather. Her team members don’t quite understand that Timaru doesn’t actually get that cold! Sophie has played quite a bit of netball so far, a tournament which was two days after arriving which she found quite difficult due to Jet Lag. Sophie is loving all the opportunities on offer and especially the intense training regime; two skills trainings, two fitness sessions, two gym sessions, one theory session and a competition game all in one week. It is however different to Roncalli where by all their training is completed during the school day which is 8:20am-5:30pm. We wish Sophie all the best for the reminder of her time in the U.K. and a safe trip home in April.
