Gateway students share their experiences with primary schools

Karin Cockroft —

On Friday 18 September all Roncalli College Gateway students were invited to speak at St Joseph's Timaru and St Joseph's Pleasant Point as part of a primary school focus on Careers.

The fifteen students who attended spoke about the Gateway programme along with their experiences in the workplace. Our students provided a good insight into a range of careers. This was appreciated by the primary students, staff and principals.

At the conclusion of the presentation, as the invited guests, the Roncalli students were asked to answer questions and then to present leadership certificates and awards to the primary school students.

Being able to hear about the vocation journey our Gateway students have been on provided a good insight into a wide range of careers for the younger students.

A big thank you to Reagan Jamieson, Aaneiya Katene, Keiran Johnson, Amber Gillies, Ata Davis, Arlin Wikaira, Nicholas Corry, Toby Scannell, MacKinley Ayers, Conor White, Nico John, Michael Watt, Nikita Andrews and Ashton Piner for their contributions and participation.
