SVA Service Award

Cathy Shearer —

“Create a movement for volunteering at Roncalli and create an environment for positive change”

Congratulations to the students who received their SVA Service Awards this week at assembly. Thank you to each of you for volunteering to make our community a better place.

The SVA Service Award is a wonderful way to “create a movement for volunteering at Roncalli and create an environment for positive change”. For students it will help them understand how giving their time has a wide-spread impact, and that it will benefit those who need it.

Volunteering at home, at school or within the community is recognised! It’s also free and a nationwide award.

As well as receiving recognition along the way with badges, the SVA Service Award provides a downloadable CV of volunteer work which is obviously useful when applying for jobs, tertiary institutions, halls and scholarships. The SVA Service Award is also aligned to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Every time students volunteer, this is directed towards at least one of these goals and contributing to a bigger picture, the solving of world-wide issues https://www.globalgoals.org/

Remember you can sign up anytime for this nationwide award and it's free! https://service.sva.org.nz/signup/
