National Chamber Music Competition

Sophie and Julia Bennet won the Timaru District Finals of the National Chamber Music contest and and were selected to represent South Canterbury in the Southern Region (South Island Finals) which they performed at beautifully on Saturday evening in Christchurch.Of 400+ groups who entered from across NZ they are in the top 36 of Chamber ensembles who competed which is an amazing feat. Congratulations to you both.

RockQuest Timaru Regional Final:

• Neve O'Connor, Billy Cook and Nick Goodwin won the best song award and ZM Peoples choice award with their band 'Nokit'
• Carl Webber and Alice Styles won 2nd place in the Solo/Duo category as 'Claws' and won the best lyric award from APRA.
• Yannick Miller played drums really well for his band from Waimate and Damon Baldwin was their Bass player so that was lovely to see him still playing music.
