Spanish Food Trip

David Hines —

Castro's Tapas and Bar - Christchurch May 26th

Recently, on 26 May our Year 11 and 12 mixed Spanish Class took a food trip to Christchurch. The class traveled to a restaurant in the Riverside Market called Castro's.

To start off the meal the class shared two Paellas. These were not made the traditional way, however the class still enjoyed it. There was a variety of mock-tails and different drinks for the students to enjoy, and many different tapas.

The students had to also order in Spanish to practice their skills. All the students got a variety, including foods such as prawns (camarones al ajillo), aged ham(jamón serrano), calamari, mushroom croquette as well as many other meals.

The class really enjoyed the experience, it helped their Spanish skills and what it would be like to order in español.

"Muy bueno" - a quote about the food from Sam Hogan.

Finally, a big thanks to Stu Piddington and Lauren O'Connor for accompanying us on the trip!
