Success at the 80th New Zealand National Archery Championships
Congratulations Roncalli Student Zac Campbell
Over Easter, Zac Campbell attended the 80th New Zealand National Archery Championships in Hamilton. Zac is now shooting in the Under 18 Recurve division while still only 15 years old.
Day one saw Zac shoot 145 metres in the Clout competition taking the gold medal!
Day two was the target competition with him taking a silver medal behind his Oceania team mate Thornton Walberg.
The next three days continued with match-play events. Zac teaming up with Trans Tasman teammates Isla Parson and Thornton Walberg to take silver in the three person match-play division. In the two person match-play, Zac lost his teammate due to sickness, but Jess Williamson from Baradene College stepped in with them narrowly missing bronze in a one arrow shoot off.
In the individual match-play he took another silver behind his Oceania teammate Thornton Wallberg.
During the Banquet prize giving Zac was awarded the Junior Clout Champion Trophy for 2024 and the Crystal Fern for representing New Zealand at two international events in 2023 – the Trans Tasman Challenge and the World Archery Oceania Championships.
Congratulations Zac, what an awesome achievement!
