The Filipino Fiesta sa Nayon Cultural Event
Showcasing our Filipino community
From the instinctive habit to place my right hand over my heart, to wearing intricately designed traditional female and male attire worn only on special occasions, “Fiesta Sa Nayon” brought an experience that many of us haven’t had the opportunity to experience in a long time.
The native dances from Luzon, La Jota Moncadeña, and Mindanao, Pandanggo sa Ilaw, to native foods and flavours that reminds us of our home. It brings a sense of comfort, fulfilment, pride and a wave of nostalgia. We are blessed and grateful to have been given the chance to showcase and highlight the complex and long history of our beautiful culture. The feeling of joy and pride is very overwhelming, that we wouldn’t be able to cover it in this block of text.
It made me feel honoured, grateful and lucky that I was part of a fantastic hardworking team of students, teachers, and parents that supported us in this journey to ensure our vision came true.
Without all your help through these months, the ‘Fiesta sa Nayon” cultural day for Filipinos would’ve never been as impactful and memorable as it did for me, forever becoming a precious memory that I would not forget and etch into my mind and heart.
Thank you all so much, I cannot express my gratitude enough for all your continuous care, devotion and determination for this event to come true and I hope that it was as memorable and precious to you as it was for me. Again thank you very much. God Bless.
