It was great to see so much enthusiasm and excitement on competition night and everyone involved pushed themselves to achieve their best.

On Thursday 12 August, we had two Year 9 and two Year 10 teams compete in the annual Aoraki Mathematics Competition. All students worked hard in the lead up, going to many lunchtime tutorials with Mr Costello.

It was great to see so much enthusiasm and excitement on competition night and everyone involved pushed themselves to achieve their best.

We would like to congratulate the Year 10 team of Findlay Grant, Annie Henderson, Sieun Park and Carter West who took away first place after answering all twenty questions with thirteen minutes to spare!

We would also like to congratulate the Year 9 team consisting of Gabriel Dickerson, Maia Liu, Isaiah Te Puke and Matthew Armstrong – who finished second after a tight play off for first!

A huge thank you must also go to Mr Costello for his hard work and dedication with all the teams. We look forward to taking these teams up to Cantamath 2021 if this event goes ahead!
