Thomas Kissell has been selected yet again for the National Secondary Schools Brass Band for 2018 and is currently rehearsing  the repertoire on his Soprano Cornet for this ensemble later this year.

Julia Bennet (Pictured above NZSSSO 2018, 3rd desk of 2nd violins) was also selected again as a member of the NZ Secondary Schools Orchestra 2018. Julia had a fantastic week in Christchurch playing violin in the NZSSSO during the Term 1 school holidays. Julia said "the rehearsals were tough and went on for 7-8 hours some days". The concert was a very high standard, full of young energy. 

Congratulations also to Sophie Bennet who has been awarded a study grant from Trinity College. She is awarded $800.00 dollars towards the purchase of a new cello following from  the Trinity Exhibition Award (cello), which she received last year. 

These Roncalli Students, along with Eunseong Kim, have been working very hard to prepare for the South Canterbury District Round of the National Chamber Music Contest to be held on Monday June 11 at Craighead Diocesan School for Girls.
