Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

Ellen Walsh —

A Zonta Club event.

Last Week one of the Roncalli College Z Club subcommittees had the pleasure of organising and hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for Staff and Parishioners. To prepare for this we had to organise invitations, a venue and we also had to figure out how to cater for 50 people.

On Friday 28 May, after all of our planning, we held a beautiful breakfast in the Holy Family Parish Centre. Roncalli Students Anya O’Connor and Grace Coe performed some lovely songs for our guests. We were also very privileged to have guest speaker Diane Lilley come in and speak about her experiences with breast cancer, she shared her knowledge and learnings with her audience and brought awareness to this topic. Her story is one that I’m sure will resonate and stick with many.

Our committee along with Sally Betts organised all of the food and spent many hours preparing for the event. A big thank you is due to every member of our school community that contributed to this event. We are very proud to say we raised $900 for the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation! Our Z Club is very excited to hold more events in the future.
