Success at the Aoraki Secondary Schools Basketball Championships

Congratulations to our Junior Basketball teams on their success at the Aoraki Secondary Schools Junior Championships this week.

Roncalli College had four teams compete in the Aoraki Junior Champs this week:

Aoraki Junior Boys ~ Wednesday 27 June

  • Roncalli Junior Premier Boys - A Grade

The Junior Premier Boys had a great day winning 3 of their 4 pool play games to qualify for the final. Finishing runners up to Waitaki Boys High School.

Results:

Ashb Blue 23 v Ronc 40; Ronc 11 vs WBHS 44; Ronc 30 vs SKC 26; Ronc 30 vs TGHS 23. Final RONC 42 vs WBHS 60.


Aoraki Junior Girls ~ Thursday 28 June

  • Roncalli Junior Girls Mercy - A Grade
  • Roncalli Junior Girls Marist - B Grade
  • Roncalli Junior B Girls - B Grade

Roncalli Mercy in the A Grade (coached by Brittney Young) Roncalli Marist in the B Grade (coached by Kyra Whyte) and Roncalli B (coached by Ross Ashley) in the B Grade All teams represented Roncalli with pride and had some great results during the day. 

Congrats to Roncalli Mercy who were runners up in the A Grade and to Roncalli Marist who were runners up in the B Grade Roncalli Mercy won their last round robin game vs Ashburton to break Ashburton's 7 year run of reaching the final.

Mercy: Waimate 14 v Ronc Mercy 9; Craig 10A 17 vs Ronc Mercy 17; SKC 9 vs Ronc Mercy 12; TGHS 10A 26 vs Ronc Mercy 14; Ashb 10 vs Ronc Mercy 13. Final TGHS 39 vs RONC MERCY 15.

Marist: Mack 0 vs Ronc Marist 15; Mt Hutt 5 vs Ronc Marist 13; Ronc Marist 13 vs MVSH 16; Craig 9A 9 vs Ronc Marish 12. Final GERA 14 vs RONC MARIST 11.

Roncalli B: Marist 12 vs Ronc 4; Gera 8 vs Ronc 17; Mack 10 vs Ronc 18; Mt Hutt 19 vs Ronc 10; Ronc 13 vs MVHS 18; Craig 9A 20 vs Ronc 11.
