SA Curriculum / Our Strategy

Jamie Wilson —

Discover how Rose Park Primary School is embracing the South Australian Curriculum and our strategic learning plan to equip students with the skills, dispositions, and confidence to thrive as lifelong learners.

The Essential Learning of the SA Curriculum identifies the dispositions, capabilities and knowledge at the heart of each of the 8 learning areas.

The Australian Curriculum V.9 cross-curriculum priorities are reflected across all learning areas through content descriptions and elaborations.

The SA Curriculum emphasises knowledge, capabilities and certain dispositions to support students' development as effective learners.

A disposition is an enduring attitude, belief, value or pattern of thinking that influences behaviour and decisions throughout life.

Dispositions are the ‘be’ element in the SA Curriculum learning standards – who learners are becoming.

Why it matters: Positive dispositions influence an individual’s actions and responses, affecting wellbeing, and success in learning.

Here are some key dispositions:

  • Curiosity: Be inquisitive and eager to learn.

  • Resilience: Persevere through challenges.

  • Collaboration: Work effectively with others.

  • Creativity: Think innovatively and generate new ideas.

  • Self-regulation: Manage emotions and learning independently.

  • Reflection: Assess and improve learning experiences.

These dispositions support students in becoming adaptable and thoughtful lifelong learners.

2025 Student Written Reports

Starting from Term 2, our site will transition from Sentral to the Department's Electronic Management System (EMS).

This change will affect administrative tasks such as attendance, enrolments, and record-keeping.

Our student reports – Mid-year progress and End of Year, will be generated through EMS and sent out families electronically.

Our staff are to be commended for their open-mindedness, risk- taking, persistence and resilience as they undertake new learning. Some productive struggles along with bouncing back from challenges!

We appreciate your patience as we make these changes to our administrative and reporting processes.

Engaging with Our Strategy for Public Education

We are in an exciting phase of public education as we implement our Department for Education Strategy

https:// discover.education.sa.gov.au/our-strategy/ and our Rose Park Primary School site learning plan -

Wellbeing – students use strategies to regulate their emotions, be persistent ad show happiness and optimism when learning

Effective Learners – students develop questioning skills to promote curiosity, creativity and critical thinking

Learner Agency – students have a voice, choice and ownership in what and how they learn

Equity and Excellence – increase the number of students achieving strong and exceeding results in English.

We are currently reviewing our Literacy Agreement and making changes to our assessment and teaching of reading.
