NOVEMBER is Foundation Month

The Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis recently welcomed to their rotary meeting Rotakids from Gladstone West State School, Interact Students from Gladstone State High School, and Gladstone Rotaract members.

It is pleasing to see that membership in our District is slowly increasing. At 30 October we have 942 official members. Let's keep up the good work!

Chris is our District Rotaract Chair, and past President of the Rotaract Club of Gladstone.

Vincent is flying back to the Solomon Islands after 16 months of life-saving medical treatment in Canberra.

The Rotary Club of Theodore is (now) a club of 4 members, however a small club can make a big difference!

Unfortunately, the proposal did not proceed. The objective was to not only address a 13% decline in membership in the previous ten years, but also to facilitate more consistent delivery of RI Programs and provide a coordinated if not single voice to ensure Rotary was more effective in the region and growing.

30 members of Discovery Coast Rotary and the Rotary Club of Gladstone recently met at The Miriam Vale Hotel for a combined social meeting as part of the World’s Greatest Meal where all money raised goes towards the fight against Polio. There were several speakers on the night, some with harrowing childhood memories, others of their volunteering work with Rotary international overseas where they administered the polio Sabin vaccine to children.

I was thrilled to read that DGE Martti Kankkunen has announced that Rotary’s Youth Exchange program will continue to operate in 2021/2022.

Meet Dr Kerry Reid Searl. Kerry is an Adjunct Professor at CQ University and a Remote and Rural Nurse Educator for Qld Health. She was involved in undergraduate nursing education at CQ University for 30 years.

With all our comings and goings - we still got time to celebrate Wades birthday, with both our Clubs.

The aim of the Rotary Action Group for Blood Donation (RAGBD) is to develop an international network of Rotarians and others who are involved in supporting volunteer blood donations.

The old and the new were celebrated in great style.

Whilst the El Nina weather pattern has brought welcome rains to much of Australia, elsewhere the weather has been more extreme.
