Call for Nominations for District Governor 2022 - 2023

Rotary District 9970 —

In accordance with RI Code of Policies 19.030 and District 9970 Code of Practice, Policies, Section 4, the Nominations Committee is calling for nominations from Clubs in District 9970 for District Governor 2022-23, in succession to Nick Courtney (2021-22).

Please note that the nominated DG will operate for the new District to cover the whole South Island.

Nominations from the Clubs in District 9970 must be received by the closing date specified. The Nominations Committee, in accordance with the RI Code of Policies, will select for nomination a Rotarian who is qualified to fulfil the role. Note that the Nominations Committee are free at all times to nominate any suitable candidate and are not bound to accept a nomination by a Club.

Any Rotarian considering the position is encouraged to discuss the role with the present District Governor, Governor Elect or any Past District Governor in full confidence.

Qualifications and experience required for the position include:

  • significant involvement at District level, noting that it is no longer a requirement for the Governor to have served as an Assistant Governor
  • service as a Club President for a full term
  • willingness and ability to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the office of Governor

The Nominating Committee will refer to the Job Description for the District Governor, particularly over the need for the nominee to have demonstrated significant involvement at District level.
