THE BALI VIBE, ALIVE IN DARWIN
Once again the Rotary Club of Darwin and Darwin Surf Life Saving Club's community festival, Bali Vibe was held at the beautiful Casuarina Beach precinct.
Bali Vibe, now in its fourth year, saw about 1200 people enjoy the festival, with activities ranging from water slides, various sports on the beach, to the Bailamos Latin dance troupe, and Pumper Jumper performances on the day. The beach immediately in front of the Darwin Surf Life Saving Club was activated with the NT Touch Football competition and Darwin Indoor Volleyball Courts for some outdoor fun.
This year's event raised funds for Riding for the Disabled (RDA). The RDA attended with two horses that interacted and were very popular with all attendees. The Rotary Club of Darwin and Darwin Surf Life Saving Club are happy to announce that $3000 was raised on the day. A further $1900 was raised for the Pumper Jumpers to support their upcoming tournament. The Jumpers will attend the Nationals at the Gold Coast in 2024.
Overall the festival continues to grow and provide an opportunity for all to celebrate the approaching wet season and enjoy some of the pleasures of living in the tropical north. This includes delicious food offerings and a cocktail while overlooking the pristine beaches of the Northern Territory.
The beach was also populated by the many children who had impromptu games of soccer and other beach activities. The festival was ably supported by Kevin the Mobile DJ , DLSC Bar precinct, Del la Plage Cafe and additional food stores. The Bali Bamboo Beach Bar run by the Rotary Club of Darwin also directly contributed to the fundraising success of the day.
Our thanks go to the Darwin Surf Life Saving team, whose tireless efforts, and active support for the event, provided a family-friendly community event in the wet season, that raises money for charity organisations.
So next year in early November 2024 schedule yourself and your family and friends to come to Bali Vibe 2024, and have a relaxing time in a family friendly environment.
