Interclub Fellowship and Fun, and even community Fellowship opportunities in May
Good fellowship comes in many forms but always includes a pleasant, convivial spirit of comradeship and companionship.
Rita Zappula stated that a "Great meeting on the 17th May for the Rotary Club of Cairns." It was a combined meeting with several clubs in the area attending, including Atherton.
The fellowship was wonderful with a great turn out of 60 people attending.
A full house! It was great to see so many special friends. Listening to information about supporting our own great charity, the Rotary Foundation.
The Rockhampton South Rotary Club shared a great night of fellowship and fun with our friends from The Rotary Club Of South Gladstone, celebrating the success of our joint children’s film and magic festival, also supported by Rotary Club of Emerald Sunrise.

This was held at the Raglan Tavern. Proceeds of the event were distributed during the evening.
Charlie Blundell, Rotary Club of Gladstone-Port, still hasn’t got to the bottom of who nominated her for this award but it gave her an excuse to sit in a room full of the most awe inspiring people!!!! It made her value this community and the incredible people who make it so much richer by volunteering 💙
There were volunteers from the Arts Community, tourism, marine rescue, aged services, CWA, child services, the Calliope Historical Village, the disability sector, sporting clubs and so on. But Charlie is quick to point out that this award really belongs to all her pals in the Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis for their endless support and example of "Service Above Self".
The Club has very recently supported Charlie through the illness and death of her partner, Peter. And that is friendship and Fellowship.
A great evening for Maryborough City Rotart Club members and guests on the 19th May, at the Maryborough Services and Citizen's Memorial Club (RSL). Their guest speaker was Tony Prove, General Manager Operations Queensland -Rail and Transit Systems, Downer Group.
Tony shared some of his wealth of experience from his apprenticeship days at Walkers to his 30 plus years in the rolling stock industry in the Asia Pacific. He is now back in Maryborough with Downer, who are one of the short-listed potential suppliers of the $7.1B Qld Train Manufacturing Program QTMP. Tony provided a fantastic summary of the many achievements of the company over more than150 years in Maryborough, as well as a few insights into the complexities of the tender process to secure this new contract. This is huge for Maryborough and we wish Downer and all involved all the best.
It was also a great night to welcome several invited guests (potential new members) for this wonderful club. Thank you for joining us. Great night had by all and we shared lots of laughs.
The Rotary Club of Darwin focuses its fellowship around a balanced portfolio of envisaging the future of the club, an ongoing wide variety of projects, community engagement and connections, and social activities, and their very busy calendar makes for a strong club of mates.
Mateship and fellowship is what it is all about.
On the 17th May, Sergeant Henry Duncan introduced their Guest Speakers from Arthritis and Osteoporosis NT, Ms Ruth Garden and Ms Ruth Quin. These enthusiastic and very knowledgeable volunteers provided an overview of the operations of the organisation in the NT and of the nature of the diseases and of the history of the organisation. Support and information services are provided to anyone who wishes to avail themselves of them free of charge. Arthritis and Osteoporosis NT is affiliated with the national counterpart and does have a funding agreement with the NT Government. It relies largely on volunteers and currently has 68 members. The national body does receive funding support from the Commonwealth Government which is shared among the state and territory affiliates. An extensive array of support materials is available from the organisation. The organisation’s current major challenges are its declining membership and the need to have a Health Educator available in the NT. Further information can be obtained from the Association’s website:

Please Note: The income from the evening’s Fines session of $260 was donated to Arthritis and Osteoporosis NT.
