An update on Area 6 Clubs’ Relay for Life team
Themed the Power of Purple, the Rotaract Club of Gladstone and Rotary clubs in Area 6 are preparing to take part in Relay for Life this year to honour those whose lives have been touched cancer 💜
Recently, the Rotaract Club of Gladstone held a Relay for Life Trivia Night to help raise funds and spread awareness about cancer. Rotarian Charlie Blundell from the Rotary Club of Port Curtis was the special guest speaker of the night and is Gladstone’s Face of Relay for Life! Charlie shared her personal experience with cancer from her late husband Peter Blundell. Charlie’s main message to everyone is to get your scans checked for early prevention. Something as little as 10 minutes of discomfort could save your life! There are very few certainties in life and cancer is definitely one of them!
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in the Relay for Life Trivia night to help raise awareness and funds for Relay for Life and the Cancer Council! Special thanks goes out to the Rotaract Club of Gladstone for all of their hard work in preparing this trivia night, to Rotarian Charlie Blundell for telling her inspirational story, and to incoming Area 6 Governor Marilyn Rayment for all of her behind the scenes support! A total of $1,600 was raised altogether on the night which has been donated towards the Combined Rotary Clubs Group 6 Team! Between the Rotary and Interact clubs, these clubs are currently the highest fundraising teams, with all funds going towards a fantastic cause!
If any Rotarians or Rotaractors would like to join our team or donate, please follow the link below which will take you to the Combined Rotary Clubs Group 6 Team! Area 6 Rotary Clubs, Rotaract Club of Gladstone, Interact Club of Toolooa and Interact Club of Gladstone State High School will be participating in Gladstone Relay for Life on Saturday 30 July from 12-9pm at Chanel College!
