New PBI for The Rotary Foundation

Rob Byrne and Mark Anderson —

WORKING WITH CORPORATIONS & PAFs

For many years, The Rotary Foundation in Australia has been able to provide tax deductibility for large gifts that are specifically earmarked for use in overseas projects.

Now, tax deductibility is also available for gifts directed to major projects within Australia.

This creates an outstanding opportunity for Rotary to partner with Australian corporations and private ancillary funds (PAFs) to deliver projects with very high impact.

The initial focus will be on indigenous Australians, refugees, homeless people, victims of family violence and people impacted by disasters. However, any large project can be considered—provided it meets Rotary Global Grant requirements and relieves the sickness, suffering, misfortune or poverty of people in need.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED? We’re asking Rotarians to:

1. look for significant project opportunities, typically with a project value of at least A$100,000,

2. use your contacts to identify community-minded companies and wealthy individuals capable of donating at least A$50,000,

3. work closely with the Rotary Foundation Australia team to make the approach to these companies and individuals—in order to carefully manage and coordinate Rotary’s dealings with them.

Can you see opportunities to use this program to significantly raise your club or district’s level of impact? If so, contact The Rotary Foundation in Parramatta:
