Rtn Wallace Taylor —

Bob Day, incoming President of the Rotary Club of Yeppoon and champion of the NYSF program, attended the NYSF function on the 21st June 2021. The great photo above shows the NYSF students and Youth Parliament representatives meeting His Excellency, Governor-General David Hurley and Her Excellency, Mrs Linda Hurley. It was sent in by Wallace Taylor, from the Rotary Club of Rockhampton.

The NYSF is a residential and also digital program to encourage young people in their passion for science. Queensland students this year had the option of in-person STEM visits as part of the 2021 NYSF Year 12 program. Visits were held at locations across the State. Students also meet professionals in STEM online at 60 digital events.

The role that Rotary clubs play in supporting the NYSF can not be over-stated

Members of local Canberra region Rotary clubs were integral to the establishment of the NYSF in 1983 (then known as the National Science Summer School).

Today, Rotary clubs around Australia continue to play a key role in supporting the NYSF to deliver its mission, by conducting selections for the NYSF Year 12 Program.
